North Shore
Glass balustrade cleaning on the North Shore
North Shore balustrades are mostly on decks and pool terraces under trees, so the dirt is sap, leaf stains and leaves packed into the base channels. Harbourfront homes in Mosman and Cremorne Point add salt mist on the seaward panels.
Under trees the glass collects sap, leaf stains and bird droppings, and the base channel fills with leaves that hold water against the bottom edge.
Older homes sometimes have new glass balustrades on restored verandahs. We clean the glass without wetting the timber decking and posts more than we need to.
Frameless glass with polished spigots is the centrepiece of many terraces here. Pure water and clean fittings are what keep it invisible.
How often on the North Shore
For most homes on the North Shore, glass balustrade cleaning is worth doing every 3 to 4 months. Sap and leaf stains build up faster under trees.
What affects the quote
- Leaves in base channels.
- Protecting timber decks and posts.

Our method
How we handle glass balustrades

Nathan is punctual, knowledgeable, polite and left our place neat and tidy.
Step 01 of 04
Plan the reach
We work out which faces are reached from the balcony and which from below, and what is out of safe reach.

He was professional, responsive, and delivered exactly as promised.
Step 02 of 04
Clean the fittings
Spigots, standoffs and channels are brushed and rinsed first, so grit doesn't run down the clean glass.

Great work, fair pricing, and excellent communication.
Step 03 of 04
Wash both sides
Soft brush and pure water on each face, working from the top rail down.

Excellent service! Nathan is punctual and nothing is a problem.
Step 04 of 04
Rinse and check
A final pure-water rinse, then we check each panel from both sides once it has dried.

Nathan just completed a pressure wash of our travertine pavers under our alfresco area, around the pool and the sundeck. What an absolutely fantastic job. Nathan is punctual, knowledgeable, polite and left our place neat and tidy. We will certainly be calling him back on a regular basis and can highly recommend him.
Nathan provided a reliable and professional property maintenance. Great work, fair pricing, and excellent communication. Highly recommend!
Nathan did a great job washing the external sides of our house. The weatherboard was dirty and had cobwebs. Nathan went above and beyond our expectations, the house was perfectly clean and all the cobwebs were gone.

Still have a question?
Talk to Nathan directly. He quotes and attends every job himself.
Is your method safe for coated glass?
Yes. Pure water and a soft brush don't harm coatings. We don't use blades on balustrades.
Can you do the balustrades with the windows?
Yes. Most clients book them together, and the price is lower than two separate visits.
Can you clean the outside face of a high balcony?
Often, from the ground or the level below with the water-fed pole. If it can't be reached safely, we tell you at the quote.
Do you clean the stainless fittings?
Yes. Spigots, standoffs and channels are cleaned with the glass, because salt in them stains the glass.
How often should North Shore windows be cleaned?
Every six months for most homes under trees, and every three to four months for harbourfront glass.
How far is the North Shore from your base?
St Ives is about 25 minutes, the upper North Shore 30 to 35 minutes, and the lower North Shore 40 to 50 minutes.
